Video clip of Jingju (Beijing opera) The White Snake

Video clip of the University of Hawaii's performance of this well known Jingju (Beijing opera) in its English language world premiere enacts the famous legend of the snake spirit who descends to earth as a beautiful woman. Guest Artists from China have been in residence since August training the UH student performers. Adapted and Taught by Lu Genzhang, Zhang Ling, and Zhang Xigui Translation by Director Elizabeth Wichmann-Walczak and Hui-Mei Chang. Performances:  Feb 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13 at 8pm; Feb 7 & 14 at 2pm.
